About Us

Who We Are
CARE Cleveland County is a community coalition comprised of local nonprofits, government agencies, community organizations, business leaders and caring individuals focused on suicide prevention and building resiliency in Cleveland County. The coalition emerged from a core group of individuals representing the Cleveland County Health Department, the Mental Health Association of Cleveland County, Partners Health Management and The Starr Project involved in the Carolina Across 100, Our State, Our Well-being initiative out of UNC-Chapel Hill.
Through collaborative efforts and comprehensive prevention strategies, we now work together toward a common vision - to create a community where no one feels alone or hopeless, and where every life is cherished and protected. We strive to foster a culture of empathy, understanding, and resilience, where individuals can openly seek help without fear of judgment or stigma. Together, we aim to build a healthier and more compassionate Cleveland County, where suicide is no longer a prevalent issue, and every person can thrive and find hope for a brighter future.
